A Message from Chanda Rowley
Dear Baggs Parents:

We are committed to improving the learning experience for students at Baggs. Some exciting changes this fall were made in an effort to increase communication with parents through the addition of Tuesday purple two-way communication folders and social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram. In addition, many teachers and parents have signed up for messaging through the Remind app. As we learn more about the capabilities of these methods, we hope to increase our ability to keep parents informed about the great things that are happening at Baggs!

In addition to tutoring, we continue to offer our extended day before and after school enrichment classes: Creative Writing, Stories Around the World, Get Your Body Moving, and Crafts. We know these programs have been popular with families because many are full with wait lists. Current classes will be ending on January 17th and new classes will begin on January 21st. We cannot wait for January for exciting options like archery, STEM, Book Club, and chess!!!

We have even more exciting news! We can hardly wait for the return of morning outside recess on Monday, January 6th, 2020!! Students may continue to arrive at the cafeteria between 7:50-8:20am. After 8:00am, students who have finished breakfast will be able to go out to the playground to play until the 8:20 bell. Students will stow their backpacks in the playground exit hallways. We would like your help to ensure that no playground equipment or toys from home are brought to school and that students are dressed appropriately for chilly weather. Students will be outside anytime the windchill is above 0 degrees. Students will not be allowed on the playground before 8:00am as we do not have playground supervision before that time. At the 8:20 bell, students will line up as grade levels to be dismissed by playground supervisors. Teachers will be outside classroom doors to greet students as they arrive. Students will continue to be able to have breakfast in the cafeteria until 8:35 when the tardy bell rings.

I would like to wish your family a joyous holiday and a Happy New Year. Please encourage students to read daily over break. School resumes January 6th.

Warmest Regards, Chanda Rowley
